How To Make Battle Gun Cakes

Ghosts

Daniel Rabel, first entrance of ghosts, four figures , 1632, photo NMR.

January 13 to March 28 held a strange cultural programming in the Louvre. No this is not a series of lectures in history of art or museum theory, but a series of lectures and films about ghosts, and the figure of the dead return . Accompanying an exhibition of graphic arts department on the same topic (which itself accompanies the exhibition part blockbuster "The ancient dream," which I hope to talk again), which lasts from January 13 to March 14 and that looks absolutely fascinating.
What we do not expect the film Zombie * very fat, of course, requires the Louvre, but a Dreyer, a Fritz Lang, the Films of Kiyoshi Kurosawa, the Dead Man of Jarmusch (who is now, since the Blake exhibition at the Petit Palais, admitted to the museum), Frontiers of dawn of Bingelow in a pinch, etc.. I note especially a personal recovery Robertson phantasmagoria, a sort of magic lantern show in the late 18th century, part of the ancestors of cinema.

side conferences, there are also what to do: I remember in particular that of Jean Wirth on the macabre medieval, February 21, and that of Clement Chéroux on spirit photography, February 28. Otherwise, Didi-Huberman, Olivier Schefer, Philippe-Alain Michaud ... the beautiful world.

Girodet, The Dream of Aeneas , brown and gray wash, heightened with white over traces of pencil, Paris, Louvre museum, picture NMR.

____________ * It was still entitled to Day of the Dead Romero , not as essential as Night, the same, but ... for once there are zombies in the Louvre!
